Heart Disease and Stroke

Studies have shown that inflammation, infection, and gum disease may play a role in stroke and heart disease. Research is being conducted to find out how gum disease can lead to hardening of the blood vessels and potentially contribute to a stroke/mini-stroke.

Researchers are looking for markers of inflammation to see what specific markers play a role in the hardening of blood vessels. The results of these studies may potentially help determine treatment and/or preventive options that can be used to treat the deposits of the blood vessels.

We currently are not enrolling participants for any studies involving this health condition. Please check back frequently as we are always adding new research studies. Please feel free to schedule an appointment for a general screening to be added to our registry, so we can contact you when you may be eligible for a study.
