About Us
Welcome to the General and Oral Health Center (GO Health Center). Our clinic is located at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry in First Dental Building Room 2040.
The mission of the GO Health Center is to expand knowledge and further understand the relationship between oral and systemic health and diseases by conducting clinical dental research, often focusing on specific conditions. Through research, we hope to benefit the community with new discoveries, promote proper dental care, and educate our participants on the importance of maintaining good oral health, as it is strongly associated with general overall health and well-being.
We are always recruiting participants for studies. We recruit participants with dental problems and participants without dental problems. General dental services may be provided as part of a study or for payment at reduced rates. The GO Health Center staff is a highly dedicated and caring team of dental professionals devoted to excellence in patient care and clinical research.
What participants are saying…
“Normally, I do not write reviews, but would like to let people who are looking for top notch periodontal services know that the GO Health Clinic is a group of professionals who provide a warm, caring, and nonjudgmental atmosphere that immediately put you at ease. I found the GO Health Clinic over three years ago, in 2014, after my primary dentist stated that their office could no longer provide my semi-annual cleanings. Now I required quad cleaning and additional services due to deep pockets that would need to be performed by a periodontist.
Fortunately, the GO Health Clinic had a research opportunity that included a preliminary assessment and quad cleaning for qualified participants. Initially, I had some reservation because I have never participated in a research study and I also suffer from a TMJ disorder that I thought could potentially disqualify me from participating…not a problem for this group. My experience during the initial study was so phenomenal from the front desk staff who greeted me promptly by name, to the periodontists and assistants who took the time to walk me through the procedure in detail and answer my questions, that I had no hesitation in continuing my follow-up care when informed that it was an option.
The doctor developed an individual treatment plan including scaling and root planing, quarterly cleanings, general maintenance, and long term options, which were explained thoroughly, leaving me feeling confident and assured that my well-being was at the forefront of the plan. I have been under the clinic’s care for many years where I remain completely satisfied with the honest, straight-forward, and conservative approach to the management of my dental issues and encourage anyone seeking periodontal services to contact this clinic.”
